Dark Chocolate & Orange Zesty are Besties

Number of Servings: 2

So simple yet so sophisticated. The deep, intense flavor profile of dark chocolate contrasts delightfully with bright, tangy orange zest. And the citrusy aromatics create an entire sensory experience that adds some sunshine to those dreary winter days. This singular combo is an easy way to introduce some zing to traditional homemade hot chocolate. It’s only 4 ingredients and 3 steps, so you can whip it up quick. It uses powdered sugar as a sweetener for another deft touch that contributes to its distinct taste. And the 1½ cups of whole milk that’s called for (for 2 servings) provides a solid base for this orangy, dark chocolatey symphony. Top it with whipped cream, shaved chocolate and orange zest for a hot beverage that looks as good as it tastes. Orange you glad you stumbled across this recipe?

  • Orange zest

Directions

Combine milk, sugar, orange peel in a small sauce pan and place over medium heat.
